England Beach Soccer Says Balls To Cancer!

The England Beach Soccer National Team has today announced that their nominated charity is Balls To Cancer.

Speaking today Head Coach Terry Bowes said “We’re really pleased to be involved with such a great charity, everyone is aware of Think Pink and we hope that we can help raise the profile of Blue Friday and other great charity events on behalf of Balls to Cancer”.

Balls to Cancer hopes to make both men & women aware of the dangers of male oriented cancer and to help men, help themselves.

Secondly they want to open a male only contact point for men, boys who have been diagnosed with cancer or are worried about cancer and their families.

Thirdly they are funding an education programme for teenagers to help them understand and take away the taboo of talking about testicular cancer and asking for help.

200,000 men are diagnosed a year with cancer in the UK, killing 10 men an hour.

The first Blue Friday is this Friday 7th June and everyone is urged to wear something blue in support of the cause.

The England team will be holding sporting events throughout the year on behalf of the charity.

Our new Healthy living update by Melissa Hathaway

A Welcome Drop in Cancer Mortality Rates

The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that there has been an increase in the number of people being diagnosed with cancer in the UK. However, on a more positive note, there has also been an increase in the number of people surviving a cancer diagnosis. The strain of kratom has inherited the painkilling effects of the red vein variants, and the best part is it produces the effects even faster.  Looking for that Crazy-bulk product to successfully fight off those unwanted fats? And retains your natural muscle while cutting? Then Crazy bulk Anvarol pill is the ultimate answer. You will get surprised by watching MyBodyLife transformation, do visit for the best supplement reviews. Go through https://swfas.org for the best crazy bulk reviews. A small dose of kratom drug test can produce an effect that can last up to 2 hours, whereas with a high dose, the effects might last for up to 8 hours.

According to the NHS, the ONS figures for the period 2008–2010 show that there were around 320,000 people diagnosed with cancer each year, and cancer accounts for around 156,000 deaths each year.

Cancer mortality rates for men fell from 229 deaths per year per 100,000 in 2001-3 to 204 deaths in 2008-10. The corresponding figures for women also showed a drop over the same period, from 161 to 149 deaths.

A healthy lifestyle

Much has been made in the press of the impact that lifestyle choices can have on your overall health, as a ti we recommend the use of ostarine to help yourself, and it is well known that factors such as smoking, excessive drinking and a poor diet can significantly increase your risk of developing cancer.

Many causes of illness and disease can be out with your control; however one important factor affecting your health that you do have the power to control is your lifestyle. Ensuring that you eat a varied and nutritious diet, take a moderate amount of exercise on a regular basis, and cut out or reduce your consumption of high-risk products such as alcohol and cigarettes are some of the most important steps you can take to improve your overall wellbeing and reduce your chances of developing a serious illness. Unhealthy lifestyle choices are putting an increased strain on the NHS, which can affect the quality of treatment available to patients with serious conditions such as cancer. Therefore many people are now investing in private medical policies that will allow them to access the best and most up to date medical treatments should they become ill, without having to necessarily rely on what the state can provide.

The most severe side effects of any kratom strain tend to focus on those who use the drug in great amounts, and over a prolonged period of time. Doing so can create withdrawal symptoms on par with opioid withdrawal symptoms. The directory of the symptom found in article so avoid the high dose of Kratom is healthier.

Exercise can be beneficial for cancer patients

In addition to helping reduce the likelihood of developing a serious illness such as cancer, studies have found that living healthily is equally important for people who have already received a cancer diagnosis.

One important element of a healthy lifestyle is exercise, and research has found that moderate amounts of exercise can be very beneficial for patients receiving treatment for cancer. In fact, guidelines published by the American College of Sports Medicine in 2010 actually recommend that cancer patients should try to be physically active during their treatment and beyond, and there are also supplements as lecithin powder which can also help you feel more energetic and overall better.

“We have to get doctors past the ideas that exercise is harmful to their cancer patients,” explained Kathryn Schmitz, Ph.D., M.P.H., FACSM, who was the lead author of the cancer recommendations and is a member of the Abramson Cancer Center at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine. “There is a still a prevailing attitude out there that patients shouldn’t push themselves during treatment, but our message – avoid inactivity – is essential.”

“We now have a compelling body of high quality evidence that exercise during and after treatment is safe and beneficial for these patients, even those undergoing complex procedures such as stem cell transplants. If physicians want to avoid doing harm, they need to incorporate these guidelines into their clinical practice in a systematic way,” she concluded. Stem cell therapy colorado is an exciting part of a rapidly growing area within medicine termed Regenerative Medicine. Stem cells are cells that have the opportunity to become several different tissue types and also have the ability to self-replicate. Stem cells are found throughout the body in certain tissues and in varying concentrations. Bone marrow and adipose tissue both have high concentrations of stem cells and are readily available within the body.

The guidelines suggest that cancer patients should aim for the same recommended level of exercise as the general public, which in America is 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise each week. Most types of exercise should be beneficial say the guidelines, but exercise programmes should obviously be individually tailed to take into account general fitness and any personal factors that could affect exercise safety, like keeping the right hygiene by using  a good deodorant for this purpose, read our blog to learn more about this subject.

The importance of a healthy diet

As well as exercising sensibly, research has found that cancer patients can also help their recovery by eating healthily, and there have been many studies conducted into the types of food that should be eaten and what should be avoided, and there are also pills such as amazon keto pills which can also help with people being healthy and keeping a correct weight. Learn other ways to feel good from this having time article.

A recent study from American found a worrying link between the consumption of high-fat dairy produce and breast cancer survival.

The study, by Kaiser Permanente Division of Research, found that women with an early-stage breast cancer diagnosis who consumed one or more servings a day of a full-fat dairy product had a 64% greater risk of dying from any cause, and were 49% more at risk of dying from their breast cancer.

According to the researchers, the findings supported the message that a low-fat diet was important for breast cancer sufferers.

A diagnosis of cancer can be a terrifying experience, but on-going medical developments and an ever increasing body of research into how patients can improve their own chances of recovery means that the chances of surviving cancer have never been higher. This is supported by the ONS statistics, which reveal that more people are beating cancer than ever before.

Team Running on empty did it in style!!

Four friends from the Black Country have completed a once in a lifetime challenge this weekend and raised over ÂŁ6,500 for a local charity in the process.

Dave Bytheway, Ian Bytheway, Nick Cockburn and Nigel Bolton ran 62.5 miles from Richmond Park in London to Brighton Racecourse in under 15 hours.

The intrepid quartet, who came up with the fundraising idea over a few pints in the local, smashed their fundraising target by over ÂŁ1500

The money raised by the boys has been donated to Leicester University and Wolverhampton University for their respective research into prostate and brain cancers.

Orange Tree pubs say Balls to Cancer with fund-raising menus

Three Leicestershire pubs are raising awareness of testicular cancer during national Balls to Cancer Male Cancer Awareness Week by creating a specials menu to encourage men to check themselves.

The Orange Tree pubs in Leicester and Loughborough, and The Lansdowne in London Road, Leicester, have designed dishes for their specials board which should remind men to keep an eye on what’s happening down below.

And each time a customer chooses one of the dishes – meatballs, fishballs, chicken balls or veggie falafel balls – the pubs will donate ÂŁ1 to be split between the Balls to Cancer campaign and the Coping with Cancer charity, based in Leicestershire and Rutland.

“Around half of all cases of testicular cancer occur in men under 35 years of age and over 90% occur in men under 55 years,” said Alex Lumley, assistant manager at The Orange Tree in High Street, Leicester.

“Many of our customers fit into this demographic and during Balls to Cancer Male Cancer Awareness Week we want to do our bit to raise awareness of the importance of self-examination.

“The idea is that they check their balls – and then they check ours. We’re hoping that as well as raising awareness, we’ll also collect a good sum for the Balls to Cancer campaign and for the Coping with Cancer charity, which is a local good cause that the Orange Tree pubs and The Lansdowne have supported previously.”

Balls to Cancer’s Male Cancer Awareness Week runs from June 2nd to 9th and is a national campaign which turns the spotlight on male cancers.

The chefs at the pubs have created the special dishes to appeal to a variety of tastes and dietary requirements. They will be available throughout the week.

Man in a Kilt helping raise much needed funds

51 Days in a Kilt.

The kilt, one of the few non-bifurcated garments a man can wear without being accused of cross-dressing.

The history of the kilt dates back to at least the end of the 16th century, where it was worn as a belt or a cloaked garment, the modern variations of the famous Scottish attire did not develop until between the 17th and 18th centuries. Today, the kilt is a symbol of Scottish and Celtic pride, strength and identity, so certainly seeing a 51 year old man walking around the Black Country in such a garment may be surprising at first.

Stuart Crowley, presently aged 50, intends to spend 51 days wearing a kilt in support of the ‘Balls to Cancer’ foundation, supporting treatment of testicular cancer. The event shall span from Stoo’s 51st birthday – the 14th May 2013 until Wednesday 3rd July.

The Englishman – with possible Scottish and Celtic ancestry – has previously supported numerous charities, and his dedication to fundraising has included participating in the Great North Run twice, and running the London Marathon three times!

Stoo’s latest venture has currently received a lot of support from his family and friends, and the event’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/51daysinakilt presently has over 100 supporters, though he is naturally always looking for more.

Links to the events blog, justgiving page and of course the balls to cancer website can be found on the facebook fan page – where Stoo regularly updates with photos and progression towards the event.

Please help support this charitable gesture in aid of male cancers, and lets all wish Stoo a great deal of luck.

Nearly two months wearing a kilt, he’s probably going to need it.

Who YOU’VE helped

We have spent time and money on our ongoing awareness campaign, which posters, mail shots events etc…..

We have always stated that we would work very closely with research labs that seem to be making significant headway in the fight against cancer. Last year we gave away thousands of pounds  to such causes.

We gave £2000 to Brunel University who were and still are making leaps in understanding how to specifically tailor treatment to an individual not just the blanket treatment patients get at the moment.

We gave £1000 to Birmingham University for their prostate cancer research which again seems to be ground breaking.

We gave ÂŁ1100 to the Birmingham Children’s hospital Cancer unit to help with the upgrading of their facilities to help improve life on the wards for patients and their families.

We gave £1772 to The Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham for a Bowel Cancer Outpatients surgery which bought all the medical equipment needed to start treating people

These are just the main beneficiaries many others have benefited from your hard work and for that we thank you.

This year we plan to get involved with Wolverhampton & Leicester Universities as well as still helping out others where we can. This year we have helped send a courageous young lady and her family to the USA for vital treatment, we have sent ÂŁ1000 to The Wolverhampton based Compton Hospice a brilliant local cancer care unit.

With your help we will help more, we will do more research and we will investigate the natural treatments to see if there is any truth in them.

If you are or know of someone/somewhere making steps in the right direction and toward a cure let me know. We need to work with the people that will help us bring this vile disease to an end
